The first centenary of the death of St Therese Lisieux was celebrated on 30 September 1977. Since her death she has become one of the best known and best loved of modern saints and has had a profound influence on the spirituality of the twentieth century. The pages of this booklet were originally written as separate leaflets published throughout the centenary year. They draw on Thereses own autobiography The Story of a Soul and bring together the main elements of her little way - prayer, gospel simplicity, hope, mercy and trust. The book contains ample quotations. from her writings especially from her poems and her prayers. The culmination of the celebration of the centenary year was the declaration of St Therese as Doctor of the Church. She now stands with the `giants of faith, proclaiming her eternal message of love.
