Anthony Buchanan
Anthony Buchanan played for Llanelli RFC for ten seasons and was selected for Wales in the inaugural Rugby World Cup, his retirement from playing coinciding with the game going professional. Buchanan stayed with his beloved Llanelli, becoming the first paid team manager in the Welsh game. He was later voted on to the Welsh Rugby Union Board and chosen as Wales’ representative on the International Rugby Board, as well as becoming chairman of the International Referees Selection Panel. In that capacity, he was heavily involved in the last two Rugby World Cups, before deciding to step down following Japan 2019.
